The Association works with members to develop their businesses and promote and develop a professional industry. LANTA programs and services help members develop business management and technical skills, save money and promote themselves. Member firms have access to marketing tools, industry business publications, and national business-related programs such as insurance, vehicle purchasing and leasing, fuel discounts and telecommunication programs. We invite you to join LANTA and give yourself the professional advantage.

LANTA has five main categories of membership: Active, Associate, Affiliate, Out-of-Province, and Individual. Branch Listings are available to Active and Associate members that wish to list more than one of their business locations. Please review the following information to determine the appropriate membership type for your business.

Note: Active and Associate members of LANTA are automatically registered as members of the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA). For members of these categories, a portion of the membership fee paid to LANTA is submitted to the CNLA, enabling these members to access the many national discount and benefit programs. You’ll find details under the “Benefits” section, accessible from the top menu.

Membership Categories

*Saskatchewan applicants: please see specific membership information for the Saskatchewan Nursery Landscape Association (SNLA) following the Alberta information.

Active
Partnership, corporation or proprietorship actively engaged in one or more of these business categories: Nursery Grower, Landscape Contractor, Grounds Maintenance Contractor, Lawn Care Applicator, Arborist, Greenhouse Operator, Garden Centre Operator, Sod Producer, Irrigation Contractor, Landscape Designer, Horticultural Consultant.

Sponsorship is required when applying for Active membership. Applicants aare of your work and business practices). See our online membership directory for a list of Active category members; or call Member Services at 1-800-378-3198 or (780) 489-1991 in Edmonton, to discuss other sponsorship options.

Unlike some Associations that have a review committee to approve new members, LANTA applicants require only two sponsors and confirmation of: business liability insurance; proper business licensing; and a WCB account. It is important, therefore, that permission be obtained from sponsors prior to using their names in the application. We will confirm this with sponsors prior to an application being approved."

Fees for the Active category are based on your company's total gross revenue from the previous year. Find your sales range to determine your fee category.

Active and Associate members are automatically registered as members of the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA). LANTA membership dues include the annual membership fee that is submitted to CNLA.

Associate
Businesses supplying material, products and/or services to the Green Industry.
Annual Fee: (Alberta) $ 638.00

Branch Listing
A Branch Office Listing is offered to branch/satellite offices of companies that maintain an Active or Associate membership in LANTA. This listing provides a branch office with: an individual business listing (in addition to the head office listing) in our annual LANDX membership directory, LANTA’s web site, all LANTA mailings, meeting notices and regular publications.
Annual Fee: (Alberta) $110.00

Affiliate
Association, city, town, county, and municipal or improvement district. Institutions providing ornamental horticultural services e.g. hospitals, colleges, university, research facility, zoo or theme parks etc. Private or public golf courses.
Annual Fee: (Alberta) $195.00

Out-of-Province
Any business engaged in ornamental horticulture and not located in Alberta or Saskatchewan. The business must be a current member of their local provincial or state association.
Annual Fee: (Alberta) $220.00

Individual
Any individual involved in ornamental horticulture and not eligible for Active, Associate, or Affiliate membership. (You must not be involved in any commercial activity.) Individuals employed by non-member companies are not eligible for this category of membership. Some restrictions apply to this category.
Annual Fee: (Alberta) $75.00

Please Note: Affiliate, Out of Province, and Individual members are not eligible for CNLA Benefits.

Saskatchewan Nursery Landscape Association (SNLA) Membership Categories:

Interim (SK)

Partnership, corporation or proprietorship actively engaged in one or more of the business categories shown below:
Nursery Grower, Landscape Contractor, Grounds Maintenance Contractor, Lawn Care Applicator, Arborist, Greenhouse Operator, Garden Centre Operator, Sod Producer, Irrigation Contractor, Landscape Designer or Horticultural Consultant.

On completion of a one-year probationary period as an Interim Member, you automatically move into the Active Member category.

Sponsorship is required when applying for Interim membership. Applicants are required to obtain the names of two sponsors who are current members of the Association and who are in a position to recommend your membership (i.e. have done business with you, worked on a project with you, or are aware of your work and business practices). The two sponsors must be from the Active or Associate member categories.
